A rare example of classic form with fibrous horn grips and mounts of silver, elegantly engraved in Ottoman geometrical and vine motifs. The broad, T-section Damascus steel blade expanding at the yelman or back edge. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard, the large silver mounts decorated en suite with the hilt. First half of the 19th century. Grip are well fit. Overall length 33 in., 84.5 cm.
